What’s Going On in the Kurdish Region of Syria?
The Kurdish-majority areas in northeastern Syria, often called Rojava, are experiencing a major humanitarian and displacement crisis.
In recent days, fighting between Syrian government forces and Kurdish-led groups has caused large numbers of civilians to flee their homes.
The United Nations and migration agencies report that more than 150,000 people have been newly displaced in northeast Syria just in recent clashes around Hasakeh and surrounding areas.
Many people are in urgent need of shelter, food, water, medical care and protection.
